There’s something I failed to mention.
It’s T minus 1 day until I leave Seoul (and life as i know it evaporates and/or explodes) but I haven’t yet told you where exactly I’m going. Well, here’s the short answer:
I’m definitely not going home.
In fact, not only am I not going home, but I’m undertaking a massive, epic, round-the-world-and-back-again trip in the span of just two months. And after that, my final destination will put me in place to launch on yet another massive adventure, in a region of the world that I’ve been dreaming about for over three years.
My head is spinning just thinking about it.
So, while I originally thought about putting up a post with a simple map of my travel plans, I had a change of heart. After all, what fun is that?
Instead, we’re going to play a game! There will even be prizes ;)
Here’s how it works: if you can correctly guess either A) the name of the massive epic trip I’m just about to undertake in the next month, or B) my final destination, I will send you a postcard from one of the cities on my trip!
All you have to do is either e-mail me or comment with your e-mail and your guess :)
Now, here are some hints to help you:
The massive epic trip will take me to three entirely new countries (which have thus never be written about on this blog). I will travel across them by land. It will take roughly 4 weeks to complete. I need visas for two of the countries. My first stop is just a 2 hour flight away from Seoul, and my final stop is on the other side of the world. What’s the name of this journey?
My final destination is a city that I’ve also never visited before. I’ll have to take a long flight to get there after the massive epic trip above. I don’t need a visa, and I also don’t need any winter clothes. It’s a fairly large and famous transit hub for the region, and I’m guessing that there will be no lack of fellow travellers and backpackers to meet. I will probably devour my own weight in street food on the very first day. What city is it?
Maybe these hints are fairly obvious, but I’m curious as to your guesses! Comment with your e-mail and your guess for either the trip name or the final destination city, and if you’re right I’ll send you a postcard from the road :)
To be honest, with the sheer amount of travel before me, I’m kind of freaking out. There are still hostels to book, plane tickets to buy, travel phrases in five different languages to practice. But as I’m leaving tomorrow morning, prepared or not, all I really have to do is get on the plane and go.
So peace out, Seoul. It’s time for the next adventure!

OOOOOOOOOOOOH! Are you doing the Trans-Siberian!?!?!??!?!?! And then you’ll end up in…. Bangkok!??!?! I want ALL the postcards!
If I’m right, I will also accept my prize in the form of you coming to visit me in Bishkek
Ohhh trans-siberian! Hope you’ve got lots of time earmarked for Mongolia – such an amazing country to travel in.
Final destination – I think you should end up in Sydney!! :)
mmmmmmmmmm would also say you were doing the vodka train but you’re talking a lot about flights (and I’m really obsessed with Mongolia so I’m probably seeing what I want).
Dont think its Sydney as it can get cold in summer – and wet (i know I was shocked too!) I dont know why but I going to say los angeles because its warm….
I think Kristin wins. But I also want a postcard! Also, Bangkok is scary, go to Chiang Mai!
Or you could kill me and tell me you’re going to Mumbai. Is it Mumbai?!
I guess you are starting in Japan, sounds like an amazing trip. It is on my list! :) Have a great time Girl!
Hi Naomi!
I am guessing that you are going first to Mongolia, and then through the Stans? (Sorry, I don’t have time to read the rest of your blog right now, so you may have already been there!). Kazakhstan & Kyrgyzstan?
Name of trip: (echoing those above me) Trans-Siberian adventure
Final Destination: Hong Kong??! (If not, then Singapore?)
No matter what, I hope you have an epic trip! I’ll definitely be following along on the blog :-)
