Guess what? YOU can come with me to BALI!

Man at purification fountain in Bali

Guys. GUYS. I am so excited about this that I can barely find the words to write about it.

So first, a deep breath. And a few questions.

Dancer in Bali

First, what’s your creative outlet?

Are you an artist, a photographer, a painter? Maybe a writer, a dancer, a poet? Or are you a DJ, a bubble-blower, a joke-teller, a hoola hooper, a fire spitter?

Maybe you’re a mix of more than one. Maybe you’re something completely different. Or maybe you haven’t yet discovered your creative outlet, but want a chance to find it.

Now, imagine having a week and a half to explore your creativity. To connect with yourself, take care of your body and mind, and put yourself in the best space to create. A week and a half to study under skilled artists in a range of techniques, to expand your creative horizons, and to find new inspiration.

Now imagine doing all this in Bali.

Yep, that Bali.

I am so stoked to announce that from March 21-29 2014, myself and Floating Leaf Eco-Resort will be hosting a 9 day creativity retreat in Bali, Indonesia!

This retreat is specifically designed to enrich your creativity. Every day starts with yoga and meditation, to center the mind, before participating in hands-on workshops with professional Balinese artists. With them, we’ll study a range of different art forms – including photography, painting, dance, batik, and cooking, among others – to provide you with new inspiration every day.

We break for healthy, organic meals (those who know me know I’m a fiend for good food), and intersperse our time in the workshops with cultural activities around Bali – including temple visits, exclusive palace tours, and Balinese ritual healing sessions.

Oh, and let’s not forget the spa sessions. Oh yes.

Throughout my travels, I’ve always searched for the creative. Street art in Seoul, silversmiths in Morocco, Sufi dancers in Turkeytravel is one of life’s greatest sources of inspiration. Everyone needs a creative outlet, because we all have stories to share. Taking time to explore our artistic sides is one of the most empowering things we can do.

What better way to stimulate our creativity than in Bali – a 2,000 year old island culture of living temples, blooming flowers, golden dancers, verdant landscapes and guardian spirits?

Imagine spending a week and a half dedicated to art and health, to nurturing yourself and finding new inspiration.

For all my upcoming travels, this is the adventure I’m the most excited about.

Whether you’ve already found your art style, want to try a new one, or are still looking for your creative calling – this time has been designed with YOU in mind. Your art, your heart, your power.

And as for me? I can’t wait to meet you there!

The level to which I believe in this, the amount of hard work that went into planning it, and the excitement I feel about getting this group together is insane. I have so much faith in what we’re doing. A week and a half dedicated to getting inspired! Studying art! Staying healthy and whole! The wait might just kill me. Girl if I could, I would. We’ll see how life shakes out. I want to talk to you about how you planned this though, because this is seriously my kind of thing… Can’t wait to meet you in Dublin :-)

  19. Flora @Flora the Explorer 15 August, 2013 at 03:11 #

Ahh this looks incredible! I wonder if I can take a week off from my Panama internship and get myself to Bali… They’re not THAT far from each other…!

    • Naomi Alyssa 19 August, 2013 at 15:55 #

Not at all! And you’d always be welcome ;)

  20. Sam 8 December, 2013 at 22:52 #

I’ve always though of Bali as just the beach, but it looks so much more than that from your photos. I’ve been to Boracay and Palawan in the Philippines and they were great beach cities. Bali seems so much more cultural.

  21. Anna from The Blonde Banana 3 March, 2014 at 08:31 #

Sounds like MY DREAM… I’ve always wanted to go to Bali and I love fitness/organic eating and of course sparking creativity. Too bad March is the worst month for me in terms of work… I can never take off time in March or October as those are the busiest months for my job :/
